Wedding Coloring Pages for Kids:
I always enjoy collaborating with other vendors and when somebody representing Zola approached me because they have an article similar to the one I wrote here on entertaining children at weddings. I was happy to include their piece because I think it adds value to my couples.
Also, they have included some really fun downloadable colouring sheets for you to use. If you want to see the original post click the button below.
Wedding Coloring Pages and Activities for Kids.
We’ve created printables for kids of all ages and abilities to feel included and welcomed at your wedding. Each printable includes an activity and colouring component, so kids can stay engaged and share their creativity when they’re done.
Share your wedding day memories.
Kids of all ages can enjoy completing this card, and it’s a great memento to keep or gift to the couple. Children can draw the newlyweds on their big day and fill out the prompts with memories and advice for the pair.
Decorate your own wedding cake.
This activity allows kids of all ages to design their own wedding cake. It includes prompts to choose their cake and icing flavours, then top it off by drawing a cake topper. It’s guaranteed no two cakes will be the same, and kids can have fun coming up with creative cake combinations.
Plan your dream wedding.
Everyone can enjoy colouring this page using the couple’s wedding as inspiration, or by designing their own party. Older kids will have fun coming up with party themes and palettes as they plan their own dream wedding.
Choose your wedding rings.
Choose your wedding bands by colouring this printable with your favourite stone and colour combination. The flower border adds to the colouring fun.
Solve the wedding crossword.
This wedding-themed crossword is better for older kids and great for teamwork. Challenge their knowledge of wedding traditions and themes and they may learn something new!
Fold your fortune.
Fortune tellers are a favourite and kids enjoy making them, so you can encourage older kids to help others who may struggle to fold them. These are customizable, so each kid will have a different fortune teller to play with. You can even pre-fill one with fun facts about the couple as a fun game for kids and adults.
Inviting kids to your wedding adds to the fun and makes it easier for parents to join your celebration. Kids just need support, and it’s important to recognize a child’s limits to prepare them for success with plenty of activities and games. Then everyone can enjoy the party and send you off to the next chapter of your life with lots of love.
A few more ideas from Zola to entertain children at a wedding.
After you and your partner choose your wedding budget, guest list, date, and venue, it’s finally time to get your invitations settled. Which brings up the question “do we want children at our wedding?”
The decision can be controversial since 25% of people believe kids should be invited to a wedding. Ultimately you and your partner need to decide if kids are something you want at your wedding by considering personal preferences, budget and if the number of potential little guests is manageable.
It’s totally okay to decide you don’t want children at your wedding. Your guests will still love you but be understanding that some guests may regretfully decline your invitation as a result. If you think all of your little cousins would add just the right amount of fun to your ceremony, then we have the tips, wedding colouring pages, and activity guides you’re looking for.
Kids are full of energy and honestly aren’t super interested in your ceremonial declaration of love. It’s tough for them to manage a change in their routine, travel, and siting through speeches, but if you plan ahead everyone can enjoy a beautiful, kid-friendly wedding.
Assign a task.
A lot of kids are happy to help your day run smoothly, so consider involving kids at your wedding. The ring-bearer and flower-child are traditions, but there are plenty of other ways children can pitch-in.
Your little cousins are the perfect people to hand out programs for the ceremony and help guests find their seats at the reception. Older children who didn’t make the cut for ring-bearer or flower-girl can still be invited to join the couple as junior attendants to the bridal parties.
Host a kids’ table.
Preparing kids-only spaces encourages children to make friends and entertain themselves, allowing the parents some time to mingle and enjoy your party with other adults. Be sure you set the table with age-appropriate games and activities, like a movie or various board games, so the kids can play with minimal supervision.
Keep in mind the age and ability levels of your guests so all children have something to play with, and get creative with activities everyone can enjoy. Consider skipping the table cloth and cover the table with butcher paper so the kids have a huge canvas to colour on. Centrepieces are another great way to add fun, like a bowl of Legos and building challenges to keep them engaged.
Gift fun favours.
Small gifts will help the kids feel welcomed and special, as well as giving them something to play with throughout the event. Slime, glowsticks, and bubbles are favourites they can take with them, just contact the venue first and ensure your recipes are mess-free. Crafts like friendship bracelets and fortune tellers can keep them busy, and they get to bring their DIY favour home to keep.
Provide activity pages.
Colouring pages and simple activities are in every on-the-go parent’s travel kit for a reason. They’re cheap, fun, and soothing activities that keep children mentally engaged. The best part is they’re customizable, so if you know your guests well you can build activity packets to their liking by including their favourite superheroes or fairytales. To help alleviate some of your stress while planning your big day, Zola has prepared six wedding coloring printables and activities for your littlest wedding guests.
