Wedding at Gloucester Cathedral – KJ.

Gloucester Cathedral Wedding.

Karen & John were married at Gloucester Cathedral but we started the day at Karen’s parents’ home for the bridal preparation photography with Karen, her mother and her bridesmaids.

It was here I ran into an old friend Andrew from Triggols Vintage cars, they have some beautiful cars, check them out at www.vintagewedding-cars.co.uk he turned up with a beautiful Austin Six.

I have visited Gloucester Cathedral a few times but this was the first time I had had the opportunity to photograph a wedding there. It is a beautiful building and makes for some stunning photography.

I was able to take a position high in the Organ Gallery that gave me a great vantage point for when Karen arrived and during the service.

After the service, the guest was taken to the reception in an old double-decker London bus. The wedding reception was being held at Karen & Johns home or more accurately in their garden.

A larger marquee had been erected and the adjoining paddock was converted into a car park for the day.

The relaxed atmosphere of a home venue made for some very natural candid photography and we took some time to mingle with the guests and get shoot a little reportage and capture a little of the spirit of the day.

The evening was topped off by a very 70’s glam rock band that had everybody up dancing and generally having a good time.
