Crystal & Gio’s wedding day started in the beautiful Hotel Del on Coronado Island, San Diego, California.
The Hotel Del is one of my favourite spots to visit when I am in San Diego.
As a UK based wedding photographer, it is always more than a little exciting to be invited to photograph a wedding in sunny California and with a lovely friendly couple to this was a real treat.
The wedding day.
I started the day with the girls in the Hotel Del for the “bridal preparation”.
The girls were so much fun and made me feel welcome. Once the bride was in her wedding dress we took a walk around the hotel grounds and out on the beach to get some photographs of them all.
At the same time, the groom and his groomsmen were getting ready in a hotel downtown where my assistant photographer was with the boys.
The wedding ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful. We looked out over the beach in the California sun with the sea in the background.
We couldn’t resist a little walk out on the beach after the service to get some ‘couples photographs’. It took no time for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to join us there.
This gave me the opportunity to have a little more fun and get them involved in the session.

When we returned to the wedding venue both the bride and groom danced with their mothers before the speeches. The speeches were light and fun and as well as the usual line up the bridesmaids had a few words to say.
A beautiful wedding with two wonderful people. The whole day was light and friendly with a real family feel and everybody was there to just celebrate and enjoy the day.
