Briars Hall is one of the finest country house settings in West Lancashire specifically adapted to hold all aspects of gatherings from weddings and civil ceremonies, charity galas and fundraising events through to smaller family special occasions and celebrations.
The hotel has gained a tremendous reputation for providing tailor-made wedding celebrations varying between personal tastes and styles.
Should you be considering holding a wedding or any other event at the hotel, we have three Banqueting Managers with over 20 years of experience at Briars Hall between them.
Karen Dobson is our designated wedding coordinator.
She has been arranging weddings at Briars Hall for over 10 years and is always available to help with anything relating to your event at the hotel.
Karen’s personal assistant is Jayne Higham. Jayne’s role is to help Karen liaise with our excited couples and help collate all event information making sure everything is exactly as you have requested.

Wedding Packages
Mini wedding photography package.
It’s not very often I take bookings for a Mini or part-day wedding photography package. So I thought this would be a good one to feature.
This wedding at Briars Hall in Burscough shows coverage for the essentials of any wedding day.
My part day wedding photography package is a four-hour package.
It generally covers guest arrivals, the wedding ceremony, candid guest photographs, formal groups shots and wedding speeches.
This is, of course, flexible and can be tailored to the coverage you want for your wedding day.
Briars Hall Wedding Wedding.
Pre-Wedding.
I started at Briars Hall photographing the guests as they arrived and the groom’s party.
We had had a little rain earlier but the sun was now shining and made for some beautiful light to photograph the wedding guests.
The wedding ceremony.
Briars Hall Hotel hosts civil wedding ceremonies and this wedding was held in The Orangery. The room looked to be pretty much at capacity but I was able to get a good position at the back of the room.
The groom and his best man were keeping each other entertained as they waited for the bride to arrive.
Hayley looked beautiful as she was led in by her bridesmaids and accompanied by her father.
It was a lovely simple wedding service with some extra vows the couple wanted to make to each other.
After the wedding service.
Once the formalities were out of the way the newlyweds and their guests all came outside for a little air, some refreshments and canapés.
A few more candid photographs of the wedding guests, a little confetti and a few shots of the couple then it was time to get them back in for the wedding breakfast.
Perfectly timed as the rain was back.
The wedding speeches and breakfast.
I had the opportunity to photograph the room before the guest entered. The room had been beautifully decorated in white and green.
The wedding speeches were before the meal and that helped with the timings.
As is the custom the speeches were led by the father of the bride who had some good stories of his daughter’s childhood and teenage years.
The groom, of course, followed on. The speeches were wrapped up nicely by the best man.
A lovely wedding day and my first Briars Hall wedding.
A little surprising as I grew up about a mile away from this wedding venue and I am now based just a few miles away.
