Wedding at the Avon Gorge Hotel.
Mandie and Matts Avon Gorge wedding in Clifton Bristol started in Portishead,
I was living in Portishead when I was booked to photograph this wedding. Sort of knew the couple through friends of friends and had photographed another event for them earlier this year.
The couple had a wedding service in Cypress the month before but this was a wedding for the rest of the family and friends. I guess also a good excuse for another party.

I joined the bride and bridesmaids in the morning as they prepared for the big day. Mandie and the girls were lots of fun and made me feel right at home.
The bridal party were taken to St. Peters Church in Portishead in a lovely VW camper van. The couple had decided to have a ‘first look’ before entering the church. This doesn’t happen much in England so it was a nice change. The couple met outside the church away from guests before entering the church together.
A lovely and simple wedding service at St. Peters church with some nice personal touches. After the wedding ceremony, everybody assembled outside for some pictures and to congratulate the couple before heading off to the Avon Gorge Hotel in Clifton.

The Avon Gorge Hotel is a really nice wedding venue for many reasons, not least for its beautiful view of The Brunel’s Clifton suspension bridge and the river Avon. The hotel has a wonderful Terrace to take full advantage of its scenic position.
The wedding festivities went off well and the guests had lots of fun. everybody was there to enjoy their evening with the newlyweds. The evening’s celebrations reached a climax with a fantastic fireworks display.
